A Poem by Ladaro
Ladaro has been an inmate since he was 16 years old and is now in his
mid twenties.
He gave us permission to print this poem:
No More Rain
Battle scars reigh supreme, as rebellions sing
Upon the shores of sand, within a distant land
Hearts beat strong
Blood, sweat and tears
These are the songs
That we cry throughout the years
There is no fear, for we know our fate
Victory is here; it's never too late
Swells grow high, blinding the sky
Currents pull us back, but we must continue to strive
Our destiny is to achieve, to overcome the storms
Leaders like us believe, that we are beyond the norm
So pick up you sword, and plunge it into the waters
So that we may protect our mothers, sisters and daughters
From the tides of destruction
Corruption and pain
Destroy the clouds and there will be no more rain.
Artists such as Ladaro could be of a great benefit to society. Other
inmates have their own contributions to make. All it takes is to get true
rehabilitation done and acknowledged so they can again be free as they
should be.
The Way to Happiness Course
"I have always blamed others for my problems, but
there comes a time in your life where you have to take a look inside
yourself and figure out "Who you really are?" What is your
purpose? How can I change my life? Who holds the answers to your questions?
"A friend shares with me a course he was taking
and what it was doing for him. It caught my attention so I started to
take the course. After the first few lessons, I realized that there
are people who care about my happiness and my well being. My course
instructor has been instrumental in continuing to lift up my spirits
as I faced my daily struggles. It has kept me focused on the road towards
my happiness.
"I have learned through this course by success
is: Simply understanding changes concerning environment, society and
self. The solution in making a change within your life is knowing what
your success is. You have to do what is best for you. Stop trying to
live or please others and start taking care of yourself. Get your life
in order first, then you will be ready to reach out and help others.
Only you can make that first step towards change. Make a difference
in your life. I'm making a difference in mine."

Learning Improvement Course
"The Learning Improvement Course has helped me
understand how to overcome the barriers that were blocking my way to
successful learning. I've learned to identify these barriers and how
to improve my study habits.
"I'm now able to better comprehend what I read
and find that studying can actually be a more enjoyable and successful
experience once you know how. The techniques I've learned in this course
have been very useful to me in the college courses I am taking today
and will be something I use for the rest of my life."
- F.B., Pelican Bay State Prison, CA
Successful Parenting Course
"In completing the Successful Parenting course
I learned how to bring out the best in a child. I believe I can raise
a child who is willing to contribute to his family and become a valued
member of society.
"By applying understanding, patience and using
the knowledge and techniques taught in this course to children, raising
a child that is happy, healthy, loving and productive will be a joyful
experience.
"Additionally, during the course I was able to
spot problems that occurred in my own childhood which if my parents
would have applied to me, my life would have changed considerably and
I would have been a better person.
"I look forward to being able to use this knowledge
when needed."
- S. C., Corcoran State Prison, CA
YES, I CAN FIND A LITTLE TIME
You can supervise these correspondence courses from your home in an hour
or two a week. In addition to changing the life of an inmate (and all
the people the current system would send him out to victimize), I guarantee
your own life will change! Get briefed further on this by E-mailing Criminon
or calling (323) 254-6008.
