"I love Criminon because it works! There are those
who don't know any other way of life than that of crime. For them, that
is the only solution to the problems and difficulties they face - all
with illiteracy, drug abuse and a totally lost sense of self-respect
as the main underlying factors to their incorrect life solutions. Until
now...
"Criminon offers an extremely workable means to
rehabilitate those men and women. Through the Criminon curriculum, men
and women who have submerged themselves into that life of crime are
given the opportunity to gain back their self-respect, realizing they
CAN lead a life with pride and no crime. They are able to learn to read,
learn basic life skills they may never have had in the first place,
free themsleves of drug addiction and begin reaching out to others of
their same condition and start helping their fellows, rather than stealing
or harming them. Man is basically good. Some have never had a value
system or life tools/skills to exercise this basic goodness. Now they
do.
"As a supervisor who sees changes with each letter
and lesson I receive, I know that Criminon IS the answer."
- Jenna Elfman, Actress, Criminon Activist and Correspondence Supervisor
The Way to Happiness Course
"Sitting up here in Pelican Bay gives a convict
a lot of time to think of the past and future. Over all the years that
I spent breaking laws and living a fast life, I didn't care about nobody
or nothing. I always lived for myself and my homies. To me it's always
been a game.
"When I first came across this Criminon course
I thought of it only as something to do to kill some time. But as quiet
as its kept the more I did of this course the more I learned what I
have been missing. I have learned that being a gangster and kicking
it with the homies didn't make me happy. I started to learn how much
out of touch with the real world I was. I've learned that for me to
be truly happy with my life I need to know what boundaries to cross
and which ones not to. I've learned to respect others and to respect
myself. I now understand that if I want a life in the free world then
I need to treat others the way I wish to be treated. It's either that
or sit u in this cell for the rest of my life and be miserable."
- D.M., Pelican Bay State Prison
The Way to Happiness Course
"I have always blamed others for my problems, but
there comes a time in your life where you have to take a look inside
yourself and figure out "who you really are?" What is your
purpose? How can I change my life? Who holds the answers to your questions?
"A friend shared with me a course he was taking
and what it was doing for him. It caught my attention so I started to
take the course. After the first few lessons, I realized that there
are people who care about my happiness and my well being. My course
instructor, Beth M. has been instrumental in continuing to lift up my
spirits as I faced my daily struggles. It has kept my focused on the
road towards my happiness.
"I have learned through this course that my success
is - "Simply Understanding Changes Concerning Environment, Society
and Self." The solution in making a change within your life is
knowing what your success is. You have to do what is best for you. Stop
trying to live or please others and start taking care of yourself. Get
your life in order first, and then you will be ready to reach out and
help others. Only you can make the first step towards change.
"Make a difference in your life. I'm making a difference
in mine."
- E.J.H., CTF Central, CA
The Way to Happiness Course
"The Way to Happiness" course has allowed
me to take a look into myself. This course has also helped me to identify
with the dysfunctional thinking I have and showed me ways to change
my thinking process."

YES, I CAN FIND A LITTLE TIME
You can supervise these correspondence courses from your home in an hour
or two a week. In addition to changing the life of an inmate (and all
the people the current system would send him out to victimize), I guarantee
your own life will change! Get briefed further on this by E-mailing Criminon
or calling (323) 254-6008.
